Barcelona is one of our favourite city break destinations. Not only because it’s easily accessible from Manchester but also because it’s that lovely, rare combination of a city with a beach. And, what a beach!
Spruced up beyond recognition for the 1992 Olympics (as with most of the port area), Barceloneta Beach is now a real destination – and it really is just a 15 stroll away from the Barri Gòtic and La Rambla.
However, our favourite place in Barcelona – and the competition for top spot is very stiff – is the incomplete Gaudi masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia. The last time we visited it was a rare, cloudy day in Barcelona, but weather makes no difference to how amazing this structure is. If you’ve never visited, make sure you put it on your Travel-To-Do list – you will not regret it…
